Why is a Compounding service needed?

Current pharmaceutical care is dominated by mass produced pharmaceuticals, available only in standard dosage forms. This limits the choices available to prescribing doctors as they consider the appropriate treatment and dosage form for each individual patient to achieve optimal results. Working with PCNZ enables the doctor to overcome these limitations and prescribe medications for an individual patient with the aim of improving compliance and health outcomes.

How does Compounding benefit your patient?

Flexibility, with regard to dosage, strength and route of administration can provide significant benefits to your patient. This may include alternative dosage forms for a wide range of pharmaceuticals that have shown usefulness and efficacy in treatment. At PCNZ, we have expertise in flavour chemistry, which is useful in disguising active ingredients that may have an unpleasant taste. Doctors may also find that a product that has been useful in treating a patient may have been discontinued or is temporarily out of stock. At PCNZ we can often recreate unavailable dosage forms for patients.
